Tell me what you think? What is your destiny? Do you believe it's by chance? Are you a lucky person? Or do you make your own luck? I'm going to tell you my story; there ahead lies pain, suffering, determination, and the ability to harness the very fabric of magnetism of opportunities. My name is Demetrius Moye,' and this is my quest.
It all started sometime when I was 5 or 6 when I became conscious of father's desire and passion for conquering whatever circumstances that didn't match. For example, even the most extraordinary men have limits. My father was extraordinary; he was not the type of man who gave up on any task before him. I remember when I was about 10 years old, my father gave me the hammer in one hand and the nail in the other I gripped the nail in my l eft hand as I struck as hard as I could, failing to hit the nail but hitting my fingers it hurt so bad. Still, my father, who was a marine without remorse, said to me, "Boy, don't you ever let anything beat you."He put the nail and the hammer back in my hand. He said, now this time, I want you to look at the head of the nail completely focus on just the top of the nail till that's the only thing that you see and put it in the wood, and I did exactly what he told me, a matter of fact he kept handing me nails. One after another, hit after hit, strike after strike, I didn't let it beat me. So people have a clear idea of who my father was; my father was a God-fearing man. He would tell me things like," Boy, when you do a job, do this job as if God himself told you to do this job." How these words affected me in my life made me who I am today.
When I was on the job, I wouldn't just give it my all; I would give it my everything, blood, sweat, and 100% conviction. I developed a habit of being the best. Because of that mindset, I made many enemies, and I was fired because of jealousy repeatedly. I would come home feeling destroyed as a man. Can you imagine feeling beat down but not beaten? No matter how my circumstances deteriorated, I would reflect when my father would chop down trees to keep the fireplace going in the wintertime, standing out in the cold. He would say to me, "stop shaking, the cold is in your mind; if you tell yourself it's not cold, it won't be" I would say to myself, whispering against the wind, "I'm not cold, I'm not cold," and I would stop shaking. After being set up and fired in 2007, I told myself I wanted to be my own boss, and I wanted to make my own rules, so I went to a friend of mine. I said to him, "Let's start our own business," and he said, "what do we have to start our own business with" and I said, "well, all I got is a mop" he replied, "how about we start a cleaning business then?" I said, "Let's do it."
So I went selling and pawning whatever I could, getting the supplies I needed, and getting the truck that I needed.I had become highly motivated; I was never going to be beaten again; I went from place to place, asking for the business. Time after time, they told me no. Again and again, no, and then I went to a pharmacist, Mr. Scott, and I said, "if you would, please let me clean your floors for free so I can show you what we can do; I guarantee you'll be happy," Mr. Scott gave me a chance. He loved the work that we did that night, and we signed our first contract. Now I was fired up with pure determination in my mind and my heart. My drive was electrifying. Within a week, I went to Planet Fitness, and I asked, "who is the person in charge," and I said, "if you let us clean your floors this week for free, I promise you'll love our work, and we will give you a fair price," they agreed, and we got our second account. Within four months, our revenue went from zero to $10,000 a month. We continued to make ground. I was not stopping, I did not take no for an answer, and I gave free services for year-long contracts.
I had become the very force that my father had created until I was in a car accident and literally lost it all. I was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, I couldn't remember where I lived, and I was diagnosed with PTSD. I couldn't communicate, and I had lost everything that I had gained. for a year and a half, I was disabled. Finally, I was able to get a job at Walgreens, making $9 an hour. I had to put my pride aside. I couldn't let myself be beaten. And then it happened, after working at Walgreens for a year, almost 2, I got my mind back. See, one of my abilities before the car accident was that I could remember people's names. One time that's all it took, yes, that was me; I was the guy that once I met you, I always knew you. I had lost that ability with the car accident, and then one day, a client came into Walgreens. I said, "Hello Mr. John, how's Mrs.John doing" He replied to me, "I didn't know you knew our names," I said, "I didn't realize I knew your name either" another client came in the same day and I said "how you doing Joe," he said "good Demetrius." I was shocked. Throughout the day, people were coming in, and I knew their names. I said to myself, "I'm back."
Later, a friend of mine allowed me not to pass up, he had an ambulance service. He said that he needed help with sales and marketing at this time, and I was offered a job at the hospital making $18.00 an hour. What an increase in pay that would have been compared to $9 an hour. I was working over the janitorial Department and with the area of expertise that I knew I had. But I decided to make a change; I wanted to do something new, something more. So I took my friend up on his opportunity, and to this day, I am proud to say I own an ambulance service!I own a health and fitness service, and I own a forex exchange service. I have an entrepreneur's institution, 40 acres of land, am a self-made millionaire, and my quest is not over. I am on my way to becoming a billionaire. Will power, determination, and focus are the keys to success. This ability's that my father taught me, teaching me to control the outcome of my thinking, habits, and life because of his strong mind; I now am Conscious of these ability's and my success can never be beaten.
